This is an active journey that includes one long-distance hike of 10–17 km, depending on conditions and the season, and one supported high-altitude ascent of Mount Etna, lasting approximately six hours and reaching above 3,000 metres above sea level when conditions and access restrictions permit.

Travellers should expect some full outdoor days and early starts. The itinerary is carefully planned to balance activities with time to relax and enjoy the beautiful accommodation and its surroundings.

For its group journeys in Sicily, Hunak has chosen a beautiful former farmhouse renovated into a complex of modern apartments, nestled in the tranquil countryside.

Travellers will have private bedrooms within shared apartments, equipped with kitchens, shared bathrooms and living spaces. The residence offers beautiful outdoor spaces, including a pool, an outdoor kitchen and olive gardens.

The local beach and nearby town are just ten minutes away.

Claudio, Hunak's Founder and Local Host

The journey is hosted by Claudio, a native Sicilian and the founder of Hunak Journeys.

Born and raised in the area, Claudio accompanies the group throughout the week and introduces guests to the landscapes, places and traditions that shaped his own relationship with Sicily.

He speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. The main group language will be selected according to the composition of the departure, while individual support remains available in all four languages.

Parker, Group Leader

A fitness professional and coach, Parker will accompany the group throughout the journey, supporting participants during outdoor activities and working alongside Claudio to help everyone feel welcome and well looked after.
